IMPORTANT: To be eligible to attend this training you will need to have taken or be registered to take at least a one day Introductory MI training which included experiential exercises, preferrably within the past 2 years. Please email me if you have any questions. 

Description:

This intensive experiential workshop will build on the theory, principles, and skills of motivational interviewing and related motivation-enhancing behavior change approaches. Participants will be guided through a sequence of experiential activities to continue to explore and shape counseling practice behavior, and to build more advanced skills in motivational interviewing. This workshop is appropriate for helping professionals with prior minimal to moderate exposure.

As a result of these sessions, you will be able to:

Objectives:

1. Practice Eliciting change talk, via MI strategies (OARS- Evoking)
2. Practice responding to change vs. sustain talk using MI strategies
3. Build confidence in ability to see someone through behavior change process with others via the four processes of MI
4. Be able to understand how to give feedback in an MI adherent way
5. Identify 3 ways that you will continue your MI learning journey

If you would like to earn CE credits for your licensure for this training, there is an additional charge of $30. CE credit will be provided by our partner, Elevate You CE.

Elevate You CE is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Elevate You CE maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

The great news is that most states allow Licensed Social Workers and Marriage and Family Therapists to gain credits from APA approved sponsors. If you are unsure if your state does, just reach out and we will let you know.
